Combating Obesity for Alachua County’s Health
Those of us who battled the wet weather and gusty winds on some Saturday mornings were well rewarded when the sun came out at the Santa Fe College track after we began to walk. We are expecting a beautiful day this Saturday,
Hundred of walkers have already participated in our walks. We need all of you to participate each Saturday morning! We found that it takes five walks to make walking a continuing part of your life. With each additional walk, you increase the likelihood that you will adopt walking as a part of your life. One way to adopt the habit of walking is by joining us every week. Health tips on Saturday will be provided experienced nutritionists and physicians from our community. Aerobics will be led by Lydia Maree, compliments of Gainesville Health and Fitness. There will be water provided by Darr-Schackow Insurance, fruit by Pulix, pedometers by North Florida Regional Medical Center and log books & T-shirts by Shands/UF Health. Physicians of the Alachua County Medical Society will be walking along with you.
